Rosanna Davison and Sile Seoige to make a documentary on fertility and heartbreak of miscarriages

Rosanna Davison and Sile Seoige have teamed up to make a documentary about fertility and miscarriages.

The RTE presenter previously revealed she was working on the personal film, with the hopes of opening up the conversation surrounding the subject.

And Rosanna has now confirmed she will be part of the show, teasing a behind-the-scenes shot during filming at the Radison Blu St Helen’s Hotel in Dublin.

The expecting former Miss World, 36, said: “Gorgeous afternoon sitting in the sunshine yesterday with Sile Seoige filming for a very special documentary out next year.”

The news comes after Rosanna announced she is pregnant with twin boys after welcoming her first baby Sophia last November via gestational surrogacy following years of fertility struggles and heartbreaking miscarriages.

Sile, who has talked about about her own experience after suffering two miscarriages in the past, said she is hoping the documentary will open up the conversation and reduce stigma around talking about the topic.

The 41-year-old added: “I’m working on a documentary on the topic of miscarriage. It is really personal to me because I am someone who has experienced it myself.

“I hope this piece of television, and I know it will because I have a really good feeling about it, will open up the conversation on a topic that is not often discussed.

“It is more and more which is great and important and it needs to happen.

“So I am working on that at the moment. My own story is, for those who don’t have a clue, I have been pregnant three times.

“My first pregnancy went well and I am very lucky I have a three-year-old little boy, he’s healthy and happy.

“I went on to become pregnant again after that and it wasn’t meant to be, I had a missed miscarriage and then a DNC.

“I was pregnant again about a year later and again unfortunately it wasn’t meant to be.

“I went in for an early scan and saw the heartbeat, all looked good.

“Came back a few weeks later and I got the devastating news I got the time before.

“I’ll not get into it now, I just wanted to give a sense of where I am coming from but anyone who has been through miscarriage at any stage, it is bloody tough.

“It is a topic I am very much connected to. And I feel like we do need to talk about it more because it helps all of us if we do that.”
