
Spanish alternative pop star Rosalia is to be named international songwriter of the year at the 2026 Ivor Novello Awards.
The 33-year-old Catalan singer released her fourth studio album Lux last year, which featured UK hits such as Reliquia, La Perla and Berghain, with the latter featuring Icelandic singer Bjork and US musician Yves Tumor, and was named international artist of the year at this year’s Brit Awards.
Rosalia, whose full name is Rosalia Tobella, will be presented with the award at a ceremony at London’s Grosvenor House on May 21.

Lux was written in 13 different languages including English, Spanish, Arabic, and German.

Last year’s awards saw Brat star Charli XCX named songwriter of the year, and deliver an acceptance speech which saw her joke “as I’m sure you’ll all agree, I am hardly Bob Dylan”, it is understood the award’s 2026 winner will be announced in due course.
Rosalia, a classically trained musician, has also previously released the albums Los Angeles (2017), El Mal Querer (2018) and Motomami (2022), her latest record Lux brought her worldwide fame and saw her popularity grow in the UK, cemented by a highly acclaimed performance at the Brit Awards.
The singer is also appearing in the latest season of HBO teen drama Euphoria.
Further winners at the awards will be announced at the ceremony on May 21, with nominees including Olivia Dean, Lily Allen and CMAT.
