It's not really surprising that singer Rosalía has become a darling of the fashion industry. Frankly, she's an icon in her own right, making styles that wouldn't suit anyone else in high demand. The Spanish superstar has already appeared in ads for Christian Dior's Lady Dior handbag. Now she's cast as a secret agent of sorts in New Balance's latest campaign brandishing the identity of the next It sneaker.
Her first task as a brand ambassador is to star in the athletic brand's film noir-style ads. The series begins with Rosalía sporting the 204Ls to hand off a package on a rainy day in Boston while a figure surveils in the shadows. Act two involves her speeding down the same rainy streets in a red corvette. The destination? New York City. Upon arrival, Rosalía hands off a painting featuring the New Balance x Rosalía logo. Fitting, since the impending 204L kicks and her new gig are worthy of some artistic expression. The highly-anticipated shoes drop later this month.
