Rory McIlroy has been blasted as immature after his 'f*** you Phil' remark on the new Netflix documentary Full Swing.
McIlroy was a surprise addition to the documentary series having previously not being announced the take part.
But the final episode of the eight episode series follows McIlroy as he recounts 2022, a year that featured the LIV breakaway, his heartbreaking loss at St Andrews and his win in the FedEx Cup.
But one moment that captured viewers was McIlroy saying 'f*** you Phil' as he received a massage.
And McIlroy followed that up by saying: "I hope that makes it in."
McIlroy was among the leading voices in the 2022 season advocating for the PGA Tour while Phil Mickelson left for LIV Golf.
And social media users were less than impressed by McIlroy.
One user wrote: "So tacky and immature"
While another said: "He happily talks bad of one of the greatest golfers of the last 25 years"
But there were many supporting McIlroy with one user saying: "Who doesn’t love @McIlroyRory! What a man"
While another said: "This is the best content out there"
