Rory Feely seals move back to St. Patrick's Athletic

Rory Feely has sealed a move back to St Pat’s.

The defender, 23, was a product of the Saints youth ranks before joining Waterford on their promotion to the top flight in 2018.

He spent two seasons at the RSC and was crowned their Player of the Season in the campaign just gone.

But Feely becomes Stephen O’Donnell’s second signing in the space of a week after the capture of Robbie Benson from Dundalk.

O’Donnell said: “Rory will epitomise what we’re trying to achieve here - he has a great attitude, is a great professional and a great athlete.

“He had an excellent season with Waterford last year, captaining them and picking up their Player of the Year award.

“He has a great profile in being young and wanting to improve and they are the type of people we want at the club.”

Feely made 42 appearances for St Pat’s in his first spell with the Inchicore club and said:  “I knew straight away from talking to Stephen that he was ambitious.

“I’m the same and I want to progress in my career and in the league. I wanted to be part of his plans.”
