Roquan Smith comparisons continue for Georgia linebacker Nakobe Dean

We’ve all been hearing that Nakobe Dean is the next Roquan Smith since the 5-star linebacker out of Mississippi committed to Georgia on the first day of the Early Signing Period.

And based on Dean’s highlight reel, one could see why the Roquan comparisons continue to flood in. They’re both fast, physical as can be, take great angles to the ball and just look to have that football instinct that can’t be measured.

Georgia senior defensive lineman David Marshall played two years with Roquan in 2016 and 2017 and knows the player Smith is. And having spent the past few months working out alongside Dean, Marshall has seen enough to make his comparison, calling the freshman the next Roquan Smith.

“He another Roquan. He’s got speed, he’s fast. He’s smart. He already knows more plays than most of the other freshmen,” Marshall said.

Roquan was actually present at Georgia’s practice on Tuesday, along with other former Bulldogs like Jarvis Jones, Deandre Baker and Isaac Nauta. Smith, now a star defender for the Chicago Bears, was watching the linebackers practice – including Dean, who enrolled early in January.
