Room To Improve viewers were all annoyed by one thing in Sunday's series finale on RTE

Around 700,000 people in Ireland will have to find something else to watch on Sunday nights, as Room To Improve is over for another year.

The country has been glued to their screens over the last six weeks as host Dermot Bannon and his team renovated a variety of family homes.

But Sunday night's episode was the season 12 series finale, meaning fans will have to wait until 2020 before the nation's favourite architect returns with the much-loved show.

The final installment of Room To Improve for 2019 saw Dermot visit Glenn Keating and Gustav van der Westhuizen, who live in Drumcondra, Dublin, with their five-year-old son Noah.

The couple had planned to revamp their home for €150,000 but that figure soared to €240,000 due to a number of factors.

But after the project was completed, it wasn't the budget that had viewers flocking to social media in disgust.

While the finished work was widely praised, numerous viewers took to Twitter to share their annoyance at the poorly applied wallpaper.

One user said: "The wallpaper gap. I'm triggered, I'll never sleep tonight!"

Another said: "Is the wallpaper off line on purpose or was that not in the budget?"

A third joked: "So Stevie Wonder hung the wallpaper..."

A fourth said: "LOVE this house, but oh good god the wee gap in the wallpaper would kill me."

A fifth added: "If the pyramid builders had to follow the same plans as this wallpaper person, we'd have some lopsided structures. Fabulous home by the way!!"

Another bluntly said: "Find the guy who put up that wallpaper. Then fire him."

A seventh said: "I normally love it all once it's done but Dermot Bannon the kitchen is woeful, and the gap in the wallpaper ruins it all."
