Room To Improve viewers have hilarious reaction to Dermot Bannon renovating his own home

Dermot Bannon fans cosied up on Sunday night as the TV star returned - to renovate his own home.

Viewers have watched the Dubliner revamp homes on Room To Improve since 2007.

But now, the nation's favourite architect is back to allow the public watch him shake-up his own home in Drumcrondra, Dublin.

The first of a two-part series aired on RTE One on Sunday night.

And unsurprisingly, the programme's name was trending on Twitter - along with simply "Dermot".

The 47-year-old is know for going over budget, so fans were eager to see how his own one would fare.

After firstly saying his budget was €350,000, Dermot astonishingly accepted a final cost which is a quarter of a million higher.

And social media was on fire after the episode as thousands of viewers flocked to Twitter.

Room To Improve will return next Sunday at 9.30pm on RTE One.
