Rookie WR Andy Isabella not expected to get much more playing time yet

With the release of receiver Michael Crabtree, there are potentially some offensive snaps available to play at receiver. That means rookie receivers Andy Isabella and KeeSean Johnson should get more playing time.

It makes sense.

However, don’t count on much time for Isabella quite yet.

“We’ll see where that goes with Andy.” Cardinals coach Kliff Kingsbury told reporters Wednesday. “He’s going to have to earn those reps, but he’s definitely able.”

Kingsbury has previously spoken about how Isabella’s missed time in training camp with a knee injury set him back. That isn’t all.

“We’ve moved him around a bit, inside and outside, so that probably hasn’t helped his development,” he said.

Isabella got one offensive snap against the Carolina Panthers last Sunday.

It sounds like Isabella won’t be playing much more any time soon. He will get his chance, though.

“He’s working hard at it, and I’d expect him to see more time down that road.”
