Rookie WR Andy Isabella is not much for conversation

The Arizona Cardinals are excited about what second-round receiver Andy Isabella has to offer on the playing field. They like his football character, his speed, his playmaking ability and his work ethic.

One thing he can work on, though, is talking.

Teammates have taken notice.

“He’s quiet,” said David Johnson last week. “He doesn’t talk much.”

“Andy doesn’t talk at all. He initiates zero conversation,” said Larry Fitzgerald on Wednesday. “If you talk to him, he’ll answer and then he’ll go about his business. He’s football, football, football. He knows his playbook, he works his tail off every day, but conversation is not his strong suit.”

There is nothing wrong with that. He just isn’t a bg social guy. He is focused on making the roster and becoming the best player he can be. And while others like to be in the spotlight, he would rather let his play do the talking.

Coach Kliff Kingsbury was amazed to find out he spent the holiday weekend at the facility working on running routes instead of “spending his bonus check.”

His teammates like his work ethic and it isn’t that he is avoiding the other players. He just knows he has so much football to focus on. As he gets more comfortable with everything, he assuredly will open up more to those around him.
