Rookie S Deionte Thompson already has a new uniform number

The Arizona Cardinals announced the uniform numbers for their 11 draft picks when rookie minicamp. Safety Deionte Thompson, drafted in the fifth round, had No. 30.

Rudy Ford had that number his first two seasons in the league and the roster indicated he had No. 23.

Since rookie camp, there has been a change, according to the roster on the official team site. Thompson now has No. 35. Ford goes back to No. 30 and veteran cornerback Robert Alford now has No. 23.

Alford wore No. 23 when he played for the Atlanta Falcons. He now gets that number again, Ford gets the number he has had since entering the league and Thompson is already on his second number.

As always, numbers still can and will change as the roster takes shape after the preseason and players are cut and veterans are signed.

For now, though, it would appear that Thompson will have No. 35 for the rest of the offseason and probably through training camp and the preseason.
