With Steph Curry, Draymond Green and Juan Toscano-Anderson ruled out against the New Orleans Pelicans, the Golden State Warriors’ pair of rookie draft picks each received an increased role on Thursday night in the big easy.
Despite Golden State’s poor shooting effort in a loss to the Pelicans, Jonathan Kuminga and Moses Moody provided a silver lining for the Warriors. With each player getting 20 minutes or more of playing time, the rookies combined for 23 points.
Kuminga led the way for Golden State’s rookies, scoring 13 points on 6-of-14 shooting from the field with six rebounds, an assist and a block in 20 minutes. Thursday was his second-highest scoring performance of the season and his third time tallying over 12 points during his rookie campaign.

Moody added 10 points off the bench on 3-of-6 shooting from the floor with five boards in 23 minutes. The former Arkansas Razorback’s 10 point effort was the second time he’s notched double-figures in scoring since being drafted with the No. 14 overall pick in the 2021 draft.

Kuminga, Moody and the Warriors will be back on the floor on Sunday at Chase Center against the Cleveland Cavaliers.
