Ronny Deila shows Celtic love never dies as former boss dons Hoops shirt to watch Rangers clash in New York bar

He may be gone but the love remains, as Celtic manager Ronny Deila was spotted in a bar in New York cheering on his former side.

The Parkhead club lost 1-0 to Rangers in first derby clash of the season as Filip Helander's 66th minute header was enough to separate the two sides.

Deila managed Celtic between 2014-2016 in a spell where he lifted three trophies.

He guided the Hoops to league titles in the 2014/15 and 2015/16 campaigns and also lifted the League Cup in the 2014/15 season.

He became a fan favourite at Celtic as the 'Ronny roar' was often heard around Parkhead following home victories.

He joined some of those supporters in New York on Sunday mornring to support Ange Postecoglou's side.

It was an early rise for Deila and the New York Celtic supporters, with a five hour time difference between here in the UK and the Big Apple.

The noon kick-off meant that supporters were in watching Celtic at 7am this morning, with Deila showing his commitment to watching his old side.

He was even spotted wearing a signed Celtic top with 'Ronny 40' on the back.

Since leaving Celtic in 2016 Deila returned to his homeland to manage Valerenga and subsequently moved to manage New York City in 2020.
