On Saturday August 2, the legendary Ronnie Scott’s Jazz Club is hosting an al fresco street party from 11am until 5pm. The event is free to attend, and no tickets are needed.
The party, which will take over Scott’s home turf of Soho’s Frith Street, is a long-anticipated follow-up the party the club held in 2019, to celebrate its 60th anniversary. Five thousand fans attended, and it’s hoped this summer’s bash will draw a similar crowd.
Organisers said the party was “serves as a thank you to the thousands of members and customers who continue to support the club and keep it at the heart of London’s live jazz scene.”
The line-up is what might be described as a luminous, intergenerational cross-section of the modern UK jazz scene, with artists including Jazz Jamaica, Theon Cross, Cosmic Fusion, Tomorrow’s Warriors Youth Ensemble, DJ AG and Kinetika Bloco.
“We’re delighted to be bringing the Ronnie Scott’s street party back this August,” said the club’s managing director Fred Nash. “This is a chance to throw our own mini outdoor summer festival, for free, in the heart of Soho as a thank you to our members and customers for their continued support.”
The day begins at 11am and runs till 5pm. The day’s running order is as below:
- Start: 11am
- DJ AG: 11.30am-12.10pm

Opened in 1959 by founders Pete King and tenor saxophonist Ronald Schatt — Ronnie Scott — the club initially began in the basement of 39 Gerrard Street as a hangout for cabbies and musicians before its swelling popularity caused it to upsize to Frith Street. Ronnie Scott’s has been host to countless live albums of titantic artists, from Ella Fitzgerald and Nina Simone to Jeff Beck.
