Ronin Crossfit raising funds for Battle Cancer Dublin in epic fitness challenge

Gym-goers across the capital are readying themselves for an epic fitness challenge this weekend as the fifth annual Battle Cancer Dublin event gets underway at the Sport Ireland Campus on Saturday, June 24.

According to the official website, "Battle Cancer invites you to join forces with your fittest friends and form a team of four or two to take on a gruelling 2.5 hour workout, broken into five 10-minute bursts that will test your strength, endurance, and determination."

One of the gyms proudly taking part in this year's event is Fairview's Ronin Crossfit, which will have five teams taking part in the event. They've set up a GoFundMe page to raise extra funds, which you can donate to here.

Ronin's Paul Martin said, "Ronin CrossFit are excited to once again support Battle Cancer Dublin this weekend. We have five teams competing, all of which will take on five lung-busting workouts over two-and-a-half hours in order to raise crucial funds in aid of the Irish Cancer Society

"The gym has supported the event for a number of years as it is a cause close to our heart. This year push the fundraising to new level with the hope of raising €1000. Any donations big or small are appreciated and will go to a great cause!

''All proceeds from Battle Cancer will go towards the work of the Irish Cancer Society.''

If you're interested in taking part in Battle Cancer Dublin, you can sign up at www.battlecancer.com/dublin. If the workouts aren't for you, you can still get involved by heading along to Sport Ireland Campus to spectate for free. You can cheer on your favourite team, enjoy a live DJ and pick up a Battle Cancer Nike t-shirt to show your support.
