Ronda Rousey announces birth of her first child with husband Travis Browne

Ronda Rousey has given birth to her first child.

The former UFC fighter, 34, took to social media on Monday to announce the sweet news with a selection of adorable snaps.

It is the WWE star's first child with husband Travis Browne, who is also an MMA star. Travis is also father to two sons - Keawe and Kaleo Browne - from his previous marriage to Erin Browne.

Taking to Instagram, Ronda announced the pair had named their baby girl La'akea Makalapuaokalanipō Browne.

The star wrote: "Welcome to this world La'akea Makalapuaokalanipō Browne. You are so incredibly loved!"

One of the cute snaps just showed a glimpse of the baby's hand as she was comforted by her mum.

The other shows the tot's hand perched on her daddy's tattooed chest.

The happy couple first announced that they were expecting a child in April. At the time, Ronda told her 10 million followers: "I can't hide it anymore. So, it's time to show it off."

Ronda and Travis tied the knot in his native Hawaii in August 2017 after they first starting dating approximately two years earlier.

Travis had proposed to her in romantic fashion under a waterfall in New Zealand.

The pair have often discussed their desire to have a family together, and now their dreams have become a reality.

In 2019, the former bantamweight champion told E! News: "We're just putting it out in the universe and letting nature take its course and not trying to rush it or put any pressure on ourselves.

"Just kind of enjoy our time as a family together. Enjoying every day and accepting it whenever it happens."

She added: "You know, we're not taking ovulation tests or anything like that.

"But, I'm also not on the road 200 days a year and taking power bombs every night. So, I'm sure that helps."

Her last appearance in a WWE ring came in the same year at WrestleMania 35 where she lost the Raw Women’s Championship to Becky Lynch at the event.

In her UFC career, she became the sport's first ever women's bantamweight champion and set a record by defending her title six times.

Her impressive athletic career also saw her take home a bronze medal in judo at the 2008 Olympics in Beijing, China.
