Ronan O'Gara couldn't hide his emotions as he gave a refreshingly honest interview after his La Rochelle side fell to Toulouse in the Champions Cup final today.
His Top 14 team found themselves on the wrong side of a 22-17 scoreline in the all-French showpiece, ending the side's remarkable run to the decider that included a win over Leinster in the last four.
But as underdogs in the final, O'Gara admitted his disappointment as his side failed to take some key opportunities when the game was in the melting pot.
"Yeah it’s tough but my gut reaction says I don’t think we were very accurate, didn’t think we were very disciplined,” O’Gara told Shane Horgan on Virgin Media.

“We made it look tight maybe at the end. A few contentious decisions maybe but you got to park that Shaggy [Shane Horgan] we weren’t good enough on the day.
“I thought we were a bit hesitant in the first 40 and we missed a few kicks at goal, we didn’t take our opportunities
“But they were hanging on so you’d admire what we did with 14 men.”
But despite the loss, O'Gara insists he's proud of his players.
He added: "Damn right I'm proud of them. We've come a long way.
"What we've worked on is the people, the player bit comes afterwards.
"It's just a bit sad now."
