Ronan Keating teams up with Robbie Williams for special Stephen Gately tribute

Ronan Keating is excited to join forces with Robbie Williams after years of being pitted against each other at the height of their boyband days.

The Boyzone star revealed last week he has teamed up with the Angels hitmaker for a song dedicated to the late Stephen Gately.

And Ronan, 43, who revealed he “had tears running down his face” after listening to The Big Goodbye penned by Williams said he has always been good friends with the Take That star.

He added: “It’s nice, it’s lovely. Gary [Barlow] and Robbie are both very good friends of mine.

“Gary and I would be very close, we were only speaking yesterday talking about music and bits and pieces and yes I guess a lot of people pit us up against each other back in the 90s.”

Speaking to FM104s The Juice With Sean Munsanje yesterday, he went on to clarify that not only was there no beef between the “rival” bands, he in fact looked up to Williams and the lads throughout his career.
