Ronaldinho makes Man City vs Tottenham Hotspur Champions League prediction

Football legend Ronaldinho has bigged up Tottenham Hotspur's chances in the Champions League and as a result fancies them to get past Man City and advance to the semi-finals.

City are a goal down after Son Heung-min fired in a late winner at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, with Pep Guardiola coming in for some criticism of his team selection.

He set his side out surprisingly defensive and left the likes of Kevin De Bruyne and Leroy Sane on the bench, only bringing them on in the 89th minute when it was too late to make an impact.

Despite the deficit City are still the favourites to qualify, even with the dangerous prospect of having no away goals.

Ronaldinho, on the other hand, believes that Spurs are the dark horses of the competition.

Andy Robertson reveals what his Liverpool FC teammates did during Man City victory against Crystal Palace

"Why can't Spurs win the Champions League?" the Brazilian asked The Daily Star.

Because they don't have the history in the competition - or because they have never won it before?

“Every team who has won the Champions Leauge had to win it for the first time once.

“Their result against Manchester City, who are one of the best teams and have some of the best players in the competition, showed that they can compete with the best.

“At this stage they will believe they can go all the way - and if they play as they can then maybe they will.”
