Ronald Acuna, Shohei Ohtani Top List of Best-Selling MLB Jerseys

MLB released a list of its top-selling jerseys for the first half of the 2023 season, and despite the historic results Shohei Ohtani has been putting up in Anaheim, the Angels superstar wasn’t atop the list.

That honor belonged to Braves outfielder Ronald Acuña Jr., who led the National League in All-Star voting, according to data from sales on MLBshop.com, which was released by MLB and the MLBPA on Monday.

The full top-20 list of most popular jersey sales is as follows:

1. Ronald Acuña Jr., Braves

2. Shohei Ohtani, Angels

3. Fernando Tatis Jr., Padres

4. Aaron Judge, Yankees

5. Jose Altuve, Astros

6. Mookie Betts, Dodgers

7. Julio Rodriguez, Mariners

8. Matt Olson, Braves

9. Alex Bregman, Astros

10. Mike Trout, Angels

11. Austin Riley, Braves

12. Ozzie Albies, Braves

13. Joey Votto, Reds

14. Francisco Lindor, Mets

15. Corey Seager, Rangers

16. Freddie Freeman, Dodgers

17. Yordan Alvarez, Astros

18. Adley Rutschman, Orioles

19. Manny Machado, Padres

20. Clayton Kershaw, Dodgers

Four players from Atlanta made the league’s top 20, with the likes of Acuña, Olson, Albies and Riley all ranking among MLB’s most popular jerseys.

The Dodgers were also well represented with three players–Betts, Freeman and Kershaw–cracking the list.

Of the 20 names on the list, 19 were position players, if you include two-way star Ohtani. The only pure pitcher in the top 20 was Kershaw, who came in at No. 20.
