Count new Washington Redskins head coach Ron Rivera among those who want to see Trent Williams return to the team.
Rivera made that point clear enough while talking with the media Thursday.
Here’s what he said, per JP Finlay of NBC Sports Washington:
“Well that’s something I’m interested to sit down and talk with the powers that be, the folks that are going to get together and discuss that as we go forward,” Rivera said. “I have an idea of how I want to sit down and visit with him.”
The Williams situation has already taken an interesting turn since the Redskins decided to fire Bruce Allen.
While Williams swore off playing for the Redskins again, there’s an outside chance all the change here might turn the tide on this situation.
Having someone as esteemed as Rivera reach out to him could be what gets Williams back with the Redskins.
