Ron Rivera reveals that one QB in Washington has COVID-19 antibodies

The novel coronavirus has been a major story in the NFL over the past couple of weeks, with a couple of games being delayed due to positive tests, and more players testing positive by the day.

While the major news out of Washington on Wednesday was that QB Dwayne Haskins was being benched for backup Kyle Allen, with Alex Smith being promoted to QB2, head coach Ron Rivera also revealed that one of the quarterbacks in the room had tested positive for COVID at some point, showing the presence of antibodies, according to NBC Sports Washington.

“We have four of them and one of them, fortunately, has the antibodies so that kind of helps us a little bit,” the coach said. “We try to keep him away from everybody else as much as possible and let them go about their business.”

The team’s four quarterbacks are Dwayne Haskins, Kyle Allen, Alex Smith and practice squad player Steven Montez.

Rivera was not allowed to say which player had at one point tested positive for the coronavirus.
