Ron Rivera reveals one of his conditions he told Dan Snyder when taking Redskins job

Ron Rivera wants it to be about the players.

It’s as simple as that. The new Washington Redskins head coach told the media Thursday during his introductory press conference that he set out a condition for team owner Dan Snyder.

That condition was simple — he wants a player-based culture.

Craig Hoffman of 106.7 The Fan caught some of this: “We have to build culture. We have to build family. If we can do that, we can win.”

Maybe this isn’t to suggest that wasn’t the approach in past regimes, but Rivera’s reputation in this regard remains well known. Character and discipline will clealry take a bigger role under the watchful eye of Rivera.

This all seems quite on brand for Rivera, who has former players openly talking about how great it’s going to be for Redskins players already.
