Ron Rivera can finally focus on football as Washington hires new Executive VP

Washington took a major step on Monday morning when they announced the hiring of Terry Bateman as the Executive Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer of the organization.

Bateman is expected to begin his role immediately, with a lot of work to catch up on.

With a whirlwind of activity taking place in the Washington organization over the past week has left a glaring lack of leadership in the front office, and many people have been forced to look towards new head coach Ron Rivera for any type of direction. Though he has been an ever-stable figure in whichever franchise he stands, asking Rivera to oversee a team name change that appeases everyone, as well as help clean up a sexual and verbal abuse case that was brought to light last week, is a bit much.

Luckily for Rivera, Bateman’s new role will likely take that sort of thing off of his plate, allowing the coach to focus on football.
