Ron Gordon admits Hibs must learn from a disappointing deadline day – hinting sporting director Graeme Mathie could be on the way out.
Boss Jack Ross was left frustrated by the failure to land key target Jamie McGrath from St Mirren.
That has led to widespread reports Mathie, who oversees the Premiership club’s recruitment, had lost his job.
Asked if the club would continue to have a sporting director moving forward, club owner Gordon said: “We haven’t changed anything yet so we’re still looking at that.
“I have more meetings this week to explore some ideas.
"We set task forces up about eight months ago to look at the football department and while not all that work was completed, a significant amount of it was.
“And now we’re going to take that into account. That includes all the first team and support structure, the development team. We had a bit of a scramble at the end and it was a little bit difficult.
“Unfortunately we left a lot of these things a little too late. We have to learn from that.”
