Ron Goldman's family slams O.J. Simpson miniseries on 'Steve Harvey'

March 15--The family of Ron Goldman, who was found murdered alongside Nicole Brown Simpson outside her California condo in 1994, slams the FX miniseries "The People v. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story" in Tuesday's episode of Steve Harvey's talk show.

"People are (like), 'Oh, the acting's riveting and this is such a great plot line.' And I'm thinking, 'These are murders!' It's very confusing to us, because this is not entertainment," Goldman's sister Kim told Harvey.

Ron Goldman, who grew up in Buffalo Grove, was reportedly returning a pair of forgotten eyeglasses to Brown's home when he was stabbed to death. Simpson, Brown's ex-husband, was acquitted of murder in what was dubbed the "trial of the century."

The miniseries, which stars Cuba Gooding Jr. as Simpson, Sarah Paulson as prosecutor Marcia Clark and David Schwimmer as Simpson attorney Robert Kardashian, is based on Simpson's trial.

"They've concentrated so much... on the attorneys' side of it. Ron and Nicole appeared as dead bodies in the beginning and that's it," Goldman's father Fred told Harvey. "So far there's not been a mention of them again, and I suspect that's the way it will continue. There's gonna be a whole generation of people who never knew anything about this trial, that will see this series and take it as gospel, when in fact it won't be and isn't."

Harvey's show, which tapes at the WMAQ-Ch. 5 studios, airs 2 p.m. weekdays on WMAQ-Ch. 5.

"The People v. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story" airs 9 p.m. Tuesdays.
