Ron Adams, rest of Warriors coaching staff to have reduced roles

The Golden State Warriors will be a much different team in 2019-20 following five consecutive trips to the NBA Finals. They will look a lot younger and their players will need some more development in the upcoming season.

Along with the roster, there will be a few changes to the role of the coaching staff as well.

Assistant coach Ron Adams, who focuses on player development, will still be around to help with the growth of guys like Eric Paschall, Jordan Poole, and others, but he won’t be around for road games.

According to The Atheltic’s Anthony Slater, Adams and the Warriors coaching staff will not be around as much for some road games. It is something that will cause the staff to be reconfigured.

It is an interesting decision as one would assume that they would need even more coaching around with the moves they made. Klay Thompson is expected to miss most of the season with an ACL injury so he won’t be around as much and there is no more Kevin Durant with his return to the Brooklyn Nets. There won’t be that veteran presence anymore so coaching will probably be more imperative.
