Romesh Ranganathan's weird biscuit eating technique has confused Lorraine viewers

Comedian Romesh Ranganathan joined Lorraine this morning to discuss the return of his show to the studio.

But host Lorraine couldn't help but bring up the debate she's seen swirling about online regarding his strange biscuit technique.

On social media Romesh told fans he eats chocolate biscuits with the chocolate side down and it caused quite the talking point.

Lorraine said: "We have to talk about the controversy over the chocolate biscuit, which has divided the nation."

Romesh said: "Well, look, I'm going to be honest with you Lorraine, I didn't anticipate it kicking off in the way that it has done.

"I have always eaten chocolate biscuits chocolate side down because I just thought that was logical."

The 42-year-old went on to defend his technique, saying: "You're maximising chocolate to tongue experience. Straight away it's a chocolate party.

"So I thought that's how everybody does it."

Romesh admitted that since his show aired, revealing his unorthodox biscuit eating technique not everyone has agreed with him.

With some fans going so far as to reach out online asking how he eats a variety of food.

Romesh said: "I started getting people on social media going, 'Well how do you eat pizza Romesh? Do you eat that topping down, do you?'."

Although his technique caused a stir online, Lorraine viewers seem to agree with Romesh's technique.

One Twitter user said: "I have to whole heartily agree with you Romesh. Chocolate side down - what is the matter with people?!"

Lara said: "I totally get eating a biccy, chocolate side down. Turn a raspberry inside out and scoff that... less hairy yumminess."

Kristian said: "I apologise for eating chocolate biscuits the wrong way for the last 28 years! I will change my ways #chocolatewaydown "

Robert had an idea as to why the comedian ate his biscuits this way, he said: "Don't take this wrong but is the way he eats his biscuit because he worries the choc will get stuck in his tash?"
