Romeo Okwara officially re-signs with the Lions for 2 years

One of the reported roster moves emanating from the scouting combine in Indianapolis has now been made official. The Detroit Lions signed defensive end Romeo Okwara to a 2-year contract on Tuesday.

Okwara and the Lions agreed to terms during the combine, but pen was not put to paper until the entire Lions management team returned to Allen Park. The defensive end was scheduled to be a restricted free agent, but the Lions and Okwara avoided that by reaching a new deal before the deadline.

The former Giant played well in his first season in Detroit, notching 7.5 sacks to lead the team. He started 14 games and set career highs in just about every statistical metric in his third NFL season.

Full financial terms of the deal have yet to be disclosed.
