Victoria Beckham 'so proud' of David knighthood while Brooklyn stays silent amid 'feud'

The Beckham family have shared tributes to David Beckham after the ex-England football captain was awarded a knighthood in the King’s Birthday Honours list — but one of David’s brood has stayed notably silent on the matter.

David, 50, is one of 1,200 people on the King’s Birthday Honours list issued by the Cabinet Office, along with the likes of actor Gary Oldman, singer Elaine Page and novelist Pat Barker among 40 new sirs and dames.

The Manchester United legend said he was “immensely proud” at being knighted for services to sport and charity, having previously been appointed an Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE) in 2003.

He said: "I'm so lucky to be able to do the work that I do and I'm grateful to be recognised for work that gives me so much fulfilment."

And in a touching post on Instagram, David’s second son Romeo, 22, posted a picture with his dad with caption “So so proud you” alongside four heart emojis.

Romeo’s younger brother, Cruz, 20, also posted congratulations to their father on Instagram. He posted an image of Sir David in a forest, with the caption: “I’m so proud dad I love you. Sir David Beckham. Has a nice ring to it.”

Victoria Beckham has also posted in support of David, writing on Instagram: “You’ve always been my knight in shining armour, but now it’s official. Sir @davidbeckham!!!

“What an honour, I couldn’t be prouder of you. Your dedication to the things that matter most — your country, your work, your passion, and most of all, your family — has never wavered.

“The way you’ve touched so many lives over the years with kindness and humility speaks volumes about the man you are and continues to inspire us everyday. But above all else, I’m so, so proud to call you mine. I love you so much xxxx.”

But there has been silence from Sir David’s eldest son Brooklyn, 26, who is said to be locked in a bitter feud with the rest of his family and instead regularly posts updates with his wife Nicola Peltz, 30.

While his brothers posted moving tributes to their father, Brooklyn’s most recent Instagram post shows his hand moving over a bag of pretzels. A further post shows his new brand of hot sauce, Cloud29, with some caviar.

David and Victoria Beckham are said to be "utterly heartbroken" over their strained relationship with eldest son, who also reportedly snubbed his father's 50th birthday celebrations last month. Insiders claim Brooklyn did not even call David to wish him a happy birthday.

Sources suggest David is anxious to heal the family rift, but Brooklyn's wife Nicola is said to be at the centre of the feud.

The couple have missed multiple family events and seemingly avoided the rest of the clan — even when they visited London recently. It has led fans to dissect the family’s many Instagram posts for signs of a fallout.

Tensions reportedly escalated after Brooklyn and Romeo stopped speaking, following Romeo's relationship with Kim Turnbull— who previously dated Brooklyn's friend Rocco Ritchie.

Brooklyn is said to be suspicious of Kim’s reasons for dating Romeo, marking the beginning of the fallout that led to Brooklyn and Nicola skipping both of his parents’ birthday celebrations in April and May of this year.

The Daily Mail reports that Brooklyn had missed 11 family events beforehand.
