Romelu Lukaku to arrive at Inter Milan ‘tonight’ as club chief responds to Chelsea interest in Milan Skriniar

Romelu Lukaku could make his return to Inter Milan this evening ahead of completing a loan switch from Chelsea.

Giuseppe Marotta, the Italian club’s chief executive, teased the imminent signing of the Belgian with a medical set to take place on Wednesday.

As he left an FIGC conference on Tuesday afternoon, Marotta was asked by reporters when Lukaku will arrive in Milan, to which he replied: “Tonight I think.”

Marotta also addressed rumours of Chelsea and Paris Saint-Germain battling over defender Milian Skriniar. Thomas Tuchel’s side have also been linked with Matthijs de Ligt and Raheem Sterling.

“With Skriniar, as well as with other players, there are multiple teams [interested],” he said on Monday night.

“In my opinion we have a squad made up of excellent players, so it is normal that there is attention from many clubs. We will evaluate calmly and we would never want to sell any player, unless it is a player who asks to be sold.”
