Romelu Lukaku has suggested a decision on his Manchester United future will be made next week.
Lukaku is a target for Inter Milan boss Antonio Conte after slipping down the pecking order at Old Trafford.
United want to recoup the £75m they paid Everton for Lukaku and will not settle for anything less than the asking price.
The Belgian was not involved as United opened their pre-season campaign with a 2-1 win in Perth as a precaution.
But reporters did manage to ask him about his future as he made his way out of the Optus Stadium.
Asked if a decision had been made, Lukaku responded: "You guys will know something next week."
Inter made an official approach to United for Lukaku last week with sporting director Piero Ausilio jetting into London.
And Solskjaer was pushed on whether Lukaku would be leaving Old Trafford this summer after the win in Perth.
"Well, let’s see when the season starts. We’ve not had any bids that we’re considering.
“All my conversations with the players I will keep confidential. That’s between us.
United face Leeds on Wednesday and Solskjaer has suggested Lukaku will be involved but a decision is likely to be reached before their next friendly - against Inter.
Solskjaer's men take on Inter in Singapore next Saturday in the International Champions Cup, although Lukaku's involvement may not impact his hopes of a transfer.
Lukaku has been made aware he will get opportunities next season but he faces a battle to overhaul Marcus Rashford for the central striking spot.
The England international was on target against Perth Glory on Saturday as youngster James Garner got the other goal.
