Romelu Lukaku responds to calls for Everton return after reaching goal landmark

Romelu Lukaku has responded to calls he should return to Everton after he scored his 250th career goal.

The striker left the Blues for Manchester United in 2017 with the Red Devils paying a fee of £75m.

Lukaku scored 87 times across two spells at Everton and the Blues have missed his prolific touch in front of goal in the last two seasons.

The Belgian joined Inter Milan in the summer and has already netted 11 times for the Italians.

Former professional boxer and Everton fan Tony Bellew tweeted his desire for the striker to return to the Blues and Lukaku responded.

While hardly a come and get me plea, his response shows he still has respect for his former club and it got Everton fans pleading for his return.

Inter Milan paid £74m for Lukaku in the summer, just short of the fee United paid Everton so the likelihood of him returning to Merseyside would be slim.
