Romelu Lukaku pictured in Chelsea training after being dropped by Thomas Tuchel vs Liverpool

Romelu Lukaku has been spotted in training with his Chelsea teammates at Cobham.

The striker, who was snubbed by Thomas Tuchel as Chelsea drew 2-2 with Liverpool on Sunday, with the striker left out of the Blues squad entirely, has been seen on the training pitch at Cobham with his Chelsea teammates ahead of the Carabao Cup semi-final with Tottenham this week.

His omission from the Chelsea side comes from Lukaku's explosive recent interview where he admitted that he was 'not happy' with his current situation at Stamford Bridge despite having been signed for great expense in the summer transfer window.

Blues boss Thomas Tuchel admitted after the draw with the Reds that discussions would be held with the Belgian over his comments.

The German said: "He is our player, there is always a way back.

"We will clear this behind closed doors and once we have made a decision and Romelu knows, you will maybe know also. It is not to be discussed now."

Since rejoining Chelsea from Inter Milan in the summer, Lukaku has endured mixed fortunes with the club.

A combination of injury, as well as a positive test from Covid-19 has seen him move in and out of the starting line-up and as a result, he has made just 12 starts in all competitions.

The 28-year-old has scored seven goals in that time though, including strikes in each of his last two Premier League appearances.

After returning to the Chelsea fold, the striker will no doubt be keen to continue his positive recent record as the Blues attempt to navigate a route through to the Carabao Cup final.
