Romelu Lukaku makes honest Inter Milan admission after sealing £97.5m Chelsea transfer

Romelu Lukaku has admitted his head "was no longer with" Inter Milan following Chelsea's third and successful offer last month.

The Blues had two bids turned down for the Belgium striker before Inter finally accepted an improved third offer.

Lukaku then flew to England to complete the £97.5million transfer and he has not looked back since - starring in both of Chelsea's last two games, and scoring on his second debut with the west London club.

Now, the Belgium international has opened up on his headspace when Chelsea came calling and made an x-rated admission about what he told Inter Milan.

Lukaku said to HLN: “When Chelsea made their third offer I knew it was serious and I was no longer with my head in Milan.

"Chelsea offered €110m plus Zappacosta, but Inter said no. So I told Inzaghi: Inter pulled me out of s*** but I wanna leave only because of Chelsea."

As mentioned above, Lukaku has enjoyed a fine start to life and Thomas Tuchel has been very impressed.

"I certainly don't think anybody wants to play against him," Tuchel said about Lukaku following Chelsea's 2-0 win against Arsenal, where the striker opened the scoring at the Emirates Stadium.

"His physicality, strength, link play and ability to attack the space, he gives us another dimension.

"It's our job not to lose our strength: the work-rate, team effort, and intensity against the ball. We have to bring everything together.

"It's not only about the qualities and the skills from Romelu, it's the package that makes it so promising for us.

"It's his age, experience, that he's a Chelsea fan whose dream was to make it at the club. This is what we felt from day one from him.

"He has this personality and he grew this personality at the clubs he played.

"He has played for big clubs and has this trust in himself.

"I hope he takes the pressure off our young guys' shoulders. This was the first game played and we have a lot more to do. It's only just begun. It's not the time now for too much praise or celebration. We keep on going at the start of the season."
