Romelu Lukaku makes Antonio Conte admission after scoring for Inter Milan in derby win

Romelu Lukaku has taken a thinly-veiled swipe at Ole Gunnar Solskjaer in his praise for Inter Milan boss Antonio Conte .

The Belgian forward has joined forced with the former Chelsea boss at the San Siro, and has started in impressive form.

Lukaku got on the scoresheet in the Milan derby with rivals A.C as he headed home the second in a 2-0 Inter win.

Speaking after the match, Lukaku was thrilled with the result, and with his new manager.

“I’m really happy with this result and these three points because this is a special match," Lukaku said.

"Now, we need to immediately think about the match against Lazio, which will be just as difficult.

“My relationship with Conte? He’s a really good coach because he’s someone who helps players to develop a lot.

"At 26 years old, I needed and wanted a coach like this, one who motivates me every day. I’m really happy to be here and to be wearing this shirt.”

Lukaku's comments could be seen as a negative jibe at former boss Solskjaer, who was happy to allow the striker to leave Man Utd.

Solskjaer preferred to use Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial in attack following his arrival at Old Trafford last December, eventually selling Lukaku to Inter in a £73 million deal.

But the transfer appears to have backfired for the Norwegian boss, with Rashford and Martial both struggling in front of goal, while Lukaku is thriving in Italy.

He now has three goals in five appearances for the Nerrazurri this season as Inter have enjoyed a perfect start to their Serie A campaign.

Marcelo Brozovic had grabbed Inter's opener shortly after half-time, before Lukaku got his head to Nicolo Barella's cross to steer it past 'keeper Gianluigi Donnarumma in the Milan net.

Lukaku immediately made a beeline for Conte as the pair then celebrated jubilantly on the touchline.
