Romelu Lukaku issues two-word verdict as Chelsea sweep aside Tottenham

Chelsea forward Romelu Lukaku issued a two-word verdict after the Blues batted aside London rivals Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday.

Despite a stuttering start in north London with a somewhat underwhelming first-half performance, the reigning European champions soon clicked into gear after the break.

Thomas Tuchel introduced N'Golo Kante and that produced instant dividends for Chelsea as Thiago Silva nodded in the opener.

Kante himself then got in on the act with a deflected drive before Antonio Rudiger polished off proceedings with a late strike.

Lukaku did not quite manage to find the net and extend his positive start to life back at Chelsea but he appeared thrilled nonetheless with the result against Spurs.

He took to Twitter to issue his response and simply put "Let's gooooo".

The Belgian will certainly be keen to find the net once again, with Chelsea facing a busy few weeks in all competitions.

The Blues renew their rivalries with Aston Villa in the Carabao Cup on Wednesday evening - Lukaku of course having hit twice against the same opponent only last week in league play.

Thomas Tuchel’s men then face a testing run ahead of the second international break of the campaign with a clash against Manchester City to come before a Champions League group tie with Italian giants Juventus.

They then round off the current run of games with what promises to be a tricky clash with newly-promoted Brentford.

In the meantime, Chelsea sit top of the Premier League after their win against Tottenham - albeit only ahead of Jurgen Klopp's Liverpool by way of alphabetical order.
