Romelu Lukaku hit with familiar Manchester United criticism by Thomas Tuchel

Romelu Lukaku has been hit with some familiar criticism by his current manager at Chelsea, Thomas Tuchel.

The German was speaking to BT Sport after watching his side lose 1-0 to Man City at the Etihad Stadium thanks to a Kevin de Bruyne strike.

Chelsea's defeat leaves them 13 points adrift of City who sit at the top of the table.

Commenting on the Belgian's performance, Tuchel said: "Sometimes he has to do the service.

"He had many ball losses and a huge chance.

"Of course we want to serve him but he’s part of the team.

"The performance up front in the first half, we can do much, much better.”

During his time at Old Trafford, Lukaku was often criticised by fans and pundits for his apparent lack of work rate up front.

He eventually ended up being sold to Inter Milan where he appeared to rediscover his scoring touch with an impressive 64 goals in 95 appearances.

However, since returning to Stamford Bridge, Lukaku's form has become patchy again and he has only notched five goals in 14 appearances for the London club.
