Romelu Lukaku gives verdict on Manchester United season so far

Romelu Lukaku believes Manchester United are heading in the right direction under the guidance of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

United are currently fifth in the Premier League with ten matches remaining of the season and are still in contention for success in both the FA Cup and Europa League.

Solskjaer's side struggled for consistency at the start of season but are now unbeaten in their last eight matches and have been boosted by the January arrivals of both Bruno Fernandes and Odion Ighalo.

Belgian forward Lukaku left Old Trafford last summer to join Inter Milan in Serie A and has enjoyed a successful campaign which has seen him net 23 goals in 34 games.

Lukaku's goals for Inter Milan have been crucial in a productive season under Antonio Conte with I Nerazzurri third in the Italian league and eight games off the top with two matches in hand.

The 26-year-old chose to leave United last year when his game time became reduced under Norwegian manager Solskjaer and he no longer felt valued by the club.

However, Lukaku insists his former club are currently making progress under Solskjaer and spoke positively when he was asked for his thoughts on United this week.

"They going the right direction," Lukaku told fans as part of an Instagram question and answer session on Monday night.

"It's a process, but they will get there."
