Romans Pizzeria announces permanent closure

Merchant City restaurant Romans Pizzeria has this evening announced its permanent closure.

The team behind the Candleriggs pizza place took to social media to announce 'with a heavy heart, Romans Pizzeria & Bar will not be reopening its doors', after two years of trading.

Owners have understandably cited the coronavirus crisis as a key factor behind the closure, with the hospitality sector having being hit hard across Glasgow and throughout the country.

However, it was confirmed you'll still be able to get your hands on a tasty slice of Romans pizza on a delivery or takeaway basis.

On Thursday night it was announced: "It is with a heavy heart that we must announce that Romans Pizzeria & Bar will not be reopening its doors.

"Sadly, with the extensions of the initial lockdown period and the effects of covid-19, the difficulties we would face on reopening became a harsh reality. These worries compounded the challenges any new restaurant faces and unfortunately it is not feasible for us to reopen.

"We would like to say a massive thank you for your custom these past two years and we will really miss looking after you.

"On a positive note, we are in the process of securing a new location to provide our pizza on a delivery and takeout basis only. We hope to make an announcement soon so please keep an eye on our social media for updates."
