- Romanian President Nicusor Dan confirmed that a drone which crashed into a residential building in Galați was a Russian-origin Geran-2, which is “the unequivocal conclusion of the technical report finalised by Romanian state specialists”.
- Dan said that Russia is solely responsible for the incident, which caused injuries and material damage, and pledged to communicate the findings to NATO and the European Union.
- Russian President Vladimir Putin had previously questioned the drone's origin, suggesting it could be Ukrainian and saying it was too early to determine its nationality without a full examination.
- NATO accused Moscow of “reckless behaviour” following the incident and reiterated its commitment to defend “every inch of Allied territory”.
- Separately, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky reported over 2,300 Russian attack drones, nearly 1,560 guided aerial bombs, and 108 missiles against Ukraine this week, with at least five people killed and 37 injured in recent attacks across the country.
