The presenter had been interviewing Little Mix before disappearing from the radio waves.

Sian and Sonny have also been granted leave the friend who died is believed to be someone the trio worked with.

Roman has today been replaced by Capital FM colleagues Rob Howard and Lauren Layfield after Will Manning took over an hour early on Wednesday and hosted the whole of Thursday's show.

Meanwhile, an industry insider revealed just how much of a toll the death has taken on Roman.

The insider explained to The Sun: "Roman and his colleagues are in complete shock, they can’t believe someone they were all close to is gone.

"They've all been left completely shattered by the upsetting news and are taking some time to grieve and digest the tragedy.

"It’s a tough time for them all right now."
