Roman Burki to Chelsea: Thomas Muller reveals how Bayern Munich exploited Dortmund goalkeeper's weakness

Thomas Muller says Bayern Munich targeted a particular weakness in Chelsea target Roman Burki as they defeated Borussia Dortmund in a crucial match in the Bundesliga title race.

Bayern moved seven points clear of their rivals after Joshua Kimmich secured a 1-0 win with an audacious and seemingly instinctive chip last weekend.

However, Muller subsequently revealed Bayern were deliberately targetting the lob with Burki known for stepping off his line early.

Muller told Viaplay Fotball: "Joshua [Kimmich] did this chip. I think it was a long hang time of the ball but I had a good feeling from the first moment.

'Roman Burki is a great goalkeeper, but one of his strengths is that he's maybe one or two steps outside of his goal because maybe he [doesn't have] the longest arms, so with this one or two steps in front he tried to have a better angle and Joshua saw that and it was a beautiful goal."

Chelsea have been linked with the Dortmund keeper of late, with the 29-year-old touted as a replacement the struggling Kepa Arrizabalaga, who lost his place under Frank Lampard prior to the Premier League's shutdown.

While Ajax keeper Andre Onana has also been linked with The Blues, Burki is reportedly Chelsea's number one target and could be available for £15million with just one year left on his contract.

Muller's revelation may come as a worry for Chelsea fans, however.
