Martin and Roman Kemp were the latest famous faces to discover more about their ancestry.
The father and son duo took part in DNA Journey on ITV, which was started by presenters Ant and Dec last year.
The start of the show saw Martin show Roman the house he was born in, alongside brother Gary, and how they had "nothing" growing up.
Spandau Ballet singer Martin soon discovered that his grandmother Eliza had actually grown up in a workhouse, where punishments were dished out for poverty or "pauperism".
"It’s the maddest thing you paint a picture of such a hard life, and it must have been," Martin said, clearly moved by what he was being told.
"And I think looking back at Eliza and her mum it’s such a sad picture, and it doesn’t surprise me that this is my family line."
This then lead Roman himself to break down with the Capital FM DJ reflecting on his privileged upbringing in comparison to his ancestors.
"That is a world that is so foreign from mine, so foreign," he said. "I have grown up with everything I ever wanted. Everything.
"It’s hard because even today I hear about my dad and the house that he’s from, and then knowing the house that I’m from, and it just goes back.
"You just hope that the people who set that up, for me and for my family, that they know that," Roman added, before dad Martin pulled him in for a hug.
Martin later discovered that Eliza left the workhouse in 1911 after training to be a maid and married Walter, Martin's grandfather.
They went on to have five children including Martin's late dad Frank.
Viewers watching the show were incredibly moved by the story but also had a lot to say about Roman and Martin's relationship.
