Roman Abramovich has already made Thomas Tuchel to Chelsea decision as Frank Lampard is defended

Here's all the news from around Stamford Bridge over the past 24 hours.

Abramovich's Tuchel verdict

Thomas Tuchel's name has been linked with Chelsea following his dismissal from Paris Saint-Germin, amid the growing pressure upon Frank Lampard.

However, Roman Abramovich's verdict on the German may have already been cast after he expressed an interest in the role at Stamford Bridge four years ago.

Tuchel's personality and character have been reportedly been questioned throughout his coaching career and he has had previous public spats with the boards at Borussia Dortmund and Paris Saint-Germain.

It's added that the clashes, orientated around transfers in particular, have been viewed dimly by the Blues' hierarchy.

Should Chelsea's big signings be learning lessons?

Blues told to copy Liverpool

Former Liverpool star John Barnes has advised Chelsea to follow in the footsteps of his former club in order to get the best out of their expensive summer recruits.

Chelsea tactics defended

Former Chelsea man Pat Nevin has issued a fierce defence of Frank Lampard's tactics for the 3-1 defeat against Manchester City.

That loss has increased the pressure upon the legendary club icon but Nevin has insisted he would have done the same, with the approach to push on rather than focus defensively.

“All he had to do was change it to a 4-2-3-1 and it would have killed that space there. He’s not daft, he knew that, but he wanted to go and attack it and try and get it back. It’s one of those ones that backfired," he told TalkChelsea.

Chelsea are back in action this weekend when they tackle Morecambe in the FA Cup, before their Premier League west London derby against Fulham.
