Formula One's governing body has said it will take two months to publish the accident report on Romain Grosjean's terrifying 140mph fireball crash.
The 34-year-old was released from the Bahrain Defence Force Hospital on Wednesday, three days after he escaped from his inferno at the Bahrain Grand Prix.
The French driver suffered burns to his hands after his car split in two and burst into flames in the most dramatic F1 accident of recent memory.
An investigation has since been launched by the FIA, with the federation confirming on Thursday that it is "expected to take around 6-8 weeks to complete before findings are made public".
FIA Safety Director Adam Baker said: "As with all serious accidents, we will analyse every aspect of this crash and collaborate with all parties involved.
"With so much data available in Formula One, it allows us to accurately determine every element of what occurred and this work has already begun.
"We take this research very seriously and will follow a rigorous process to find out exactly what happened before proposing potential improvements."
Haas driver Grosjean will be replaced by Pietro Fittipaldi for this weekend's Sakhir Grand Prix, but the Frenchman could return for the season finale in Abu Dhabi on December 13.
