Roma set to beat Man United to Spurs star, Man City exit expected - European transfer rumours

The Premier League season kicks off in under four weeks, with top-flight clubs rushing to conclude their transfer business.

A number of England’s top clubs still have work to do in the summer window as they step up their pre-season preparations for the new campaign.

With that in mind, we’ve collated all the latest rumours and gossip from across Europe.

Otamendi eyes Manchester City exit

Having already lost Vincent Kompany this summer, Nicolas Otamendi is also seeking a route of Manchester City.

Spanish media reports have linked the defender with a move to former club Valencia.

Those stories have now been backed up by Argentina outlet Olé , who claim that he is worried about his playing time next season and wants a move back to the Spanish side.

Southampton striker in ‘limbo’

Forgotten Southampton striker Guido Carrilo has been left in ‘limbo’ over his future, according to Spanish outlet AS

Having spent last season on loan at Leganes, the La Liga club were hoping to agree another temporary switch, but the Saints have yet to agree.

They’re believed to want rid of the £20m flop on a permanent deal, but that will likely price out Leganes.

Carrilo has returned to the South Coast for pre-season training but was left out of their training camp to Austria, with his future unclear.

Alderweireld nears Serie A move

Tottenham Hotspur defender Toby Alderweireld is closing in on a move to AS Roma, after agreeing personal terms with the Italian side.

According to Corriere dello Sport , the Belgian has agreed a contract but the two clubs are yet to agree a fee for the 30-year-old.

The outlet claims the two sides will sit down on Monday to conclude the transfer, following Kostas Manolas’ move to Napoli.

Sheffield United chase Mexican striker

Sheffield United could be set to raid the European market in their search for a striker, with Roger Martinez linked to the Blades.

Mexican outlet El Universal believe Chris Wilder’s side could be set to offer €15m, which should secure his signature at Bramall Lane.

The attacker scored 14 goals in 41 club games for America.
