Roma president James Pallotta dismisses talk he is planning Newcastle United takeover

AS Roma president James Pallotta has dismissed talk that he is set to bid for Newcastle United .

Reports in Italy last week suggested he was preparing a £300million takeover on Tyneside.

Sources at United dismissed the rumours and while the club is still for sale, it has been business as usual.

Mike Ashley was back at the training ground to give the green light for new signings last Wednesday.

Now American billionaire Pallotta has hit back at the reports.

He told the media in Italy: “That is the usual fake news.

“They can continue writing what they want, but I have nothing to do with Newcastle.”
