Roma and Napoli's move for Arsenal star, Sane to Bayern off - latest European transfer rumours

The January transfer window is almost here, and there looks set to be plenty of business done across Europe in the New Year.

With league titles and the Champions League set to be decided in the second half of the season, some of the continent’s top clubs will be looking to strengthen ahead of a crucial period.

Here is the latest transfer news, rumours and gossip from across Europe.

Inter eye Vidal

Inter Milan are set to step up their efforts to secure the signing of Arturo Vidal from Barcelona in January - with Inter boss Antonio Conte keen on a reunion with the midfielder.

The two previously worked together at Juventus and Gazzetta dello Sport are reporting that the Catalan side would be willing to part ways with the Chilean but would want the Serie A club to put forward a £17million bid.

Vidal was left angered after discovering he wasn't included in Ernesto Valverde's starting 11 to face Real Madrid during their midweek 0-0 draw - and is now expected to leave the club in January having made 18 appearances so far this season.

No Sane for Bayern

Just days after being linked with a fresh move for Leroy Sane in the January transfer window, a member of Bayern Munich’s hierarchy has appeared to play down interest in the Manchester City winger.

Sane, who is yet to feature for City after picking up a knee injury against Liverpool in the Community Shield in August, was subject to a failed bid from the German giants in the summer.

And the club's director, Hasan Salihamidzic, wouldn't be drawn on Sane, when asked about transfers. "Sane? I don't want to talk about other clubs' players," he told Calciomercato .

"We will wait and see but we aren't expecting to do much in January."

Italian pair target Kolasinac

Napoli and Roma want to sign Arsenal defender Sead Kolasinac in the upcoming January transfer window - according to Sky Sport News.

Napoli, who are now under the management of Gennaro Gattusso, are thought to bring the Bosnia-Herzegovina left-back to the club next month - while Roma are interested in a deal next summer when they look into replacing the out-of-contract 34-year-old Aleksandar Kolarov, formerly of Manchester City.

Kolasinac has two-and-a-half years left to run on his Gunners contract and has made 14 appearances this season - but with Mikel Arteta now in charge of the north London club, the defender could be surface to requirements as the Spaniard looks to freshen things up.
