The Rolling Stones will open their first “flagship store” in London next month.

The “Paint It Black” band will take over 9 Carnaby Street from Wednesday 9 September with a new shop.

Fans of the group will be able to browse the Stones’ extensive music catalogue, as well as “exclusive” collaborations and merchandise only available in store.

“Soho has always encapsulated rock’n’roll so Carnaby Street was the perfect spot for our own store,” the band said, describing the project as “an unrivalled experience for everyone to come to London and enjoy”.

A new Instagram page dedicated to the store, which has been named RS No 9, has also been set up to give fans a look at what’s to come. The logo sees the band’s iconic tongue extended until it curls around into a giant number nine.

Earlier this month, the band released the music video for their previously unheard song “Scarlet”, which was recorded in 1974 and features Led Zeppelin‘s Jimmy Page on guitar.

The video, which was filmed during lockdown in a “socially distanced shoot” stars Normal People’s Paul Mescal as he runs riot through an empty Claridge’s hotel.

Mescal shared the video on his social media, tweeting a link and commenting: “Mum this is all a bit mad.”
